More Details JazzUP! proudly presents... JAM EXPERIMENT!

Packed with the young rising stars of the Brit jazz scene, London-based Jam Experiment are guaranteed to leave audiences in awe. After their debut gig supporting Liane Carroll, the five-piece quickly went on to win the 2014 Jazz North Introduces Scheme. Comprised of saxophonist Alexander Bone, trombonist Rory Ingham, Toby Comeau on piano/keyboard, Joe Lee as bassist, and Jonny Mansfield on drums, the band are currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall.

"Jam Experiment is ‘feel good’, accessible, intelligently crafted… and irresistible." London Jazz News

It’s clear to see that we can expect to hear great things from Jam Experiment, with both Bone and Ingham earning respective nominations not only for Best Instrumentalist of the Year during the British Jazz Awards in 2016, but also the title of Rising Star. Whilst the pair were runners-up in the race for Best Instrumentalist, Bone was ultimately crowned Rising Star in addition to his previous win of the inaugural BBC Young Musician Jazz Award.

"...refreshing audience-friendly approach that embraces pop, jazz-funk and R&B" Jazzwise

Combining all aspects of each band members unique musical identity, Jam Experiment offer a beautifully varied set of music that displays a fresh, energetic and honest approach of original compositions and arrangements.

"Their ability to connect with the audience was exceptional...This band are bound for great things. A joy!" Claire Martin OBE, presenter of Jazz Line-Up on BBC Radio 3.
