What JazzUP! presents ... HORACE PANTER - SOUL GROOVES (£10/£12)
How Much £10.00
More Details JazzUP! presents… Soul Grooves with HORACE PANTER! featuring Steve Cradock and Jim Hunt.

Following last year’s sell out gig we are over he moon to bring this British bass icon back to JazzUp. Horace Panter needs no introduction as founder member and bassist of The Specials.
After many Top Ten singles and achievements too numerous to mention, Horace still tours with the band, recently completing tours of the U.S, Australia and Japan, alongside Terry Hall, Lynval
Golding and other original members.
The Specials influence on British music is immense, and their blend of ska and rocksteady with punk's energy and attitude is the soundtrack of a generation. Horace’s bass playing is a vital
component of that sound and threads through the British music scene to this day.
As a bassist, Horace is a master of the rock-solid groove, and JazzUp gives him a chance to stretch out and lay it down on tunes by the likes of The Meters, George Benson and Booker T.
Combine that with a blistering lineup of jazz soloists and you have a JazzUp not to be missed…

Steve Cradock
Another star in his own right, this guitarist needs little introduction to fans of Brit music and style.
Well known as a founder member of Ocean Colour Scene, Steve also plays guitar in Paul Weller’s band, having appeared on all of Weller’s solo records following his debut solo album. With a list of achievements and collaborations too long to put down here, he has a distinctive sound and approach and is widely regarded as one of the most talented British guitarists.

Jim Hunt
Musical prodigy Jim Hunt’s career has taken in an extraordinary breadth of artists. As arranger,
saxophonist and horn section leader he has toured and recorded with Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft, and Paloma Faith to name a few. He’s particularly noted for his longstanding place in Amy Winehouse’s horn section, and current work with Noel Gallagher.

Not one, but two members of The Specials; on keyboards much requested return of
Nikolaj Torp Larsen
A highly successful jazz musician and film score composer, he has toured and recorded with many well known artists including on Adele's "Skyfall" which won the Award for Best British Single at the 2013 BRIT Awards. He has contributed to more than 60 albums by artists including James Morrison, Chaka Khan, Pointer Sisters, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, Grace Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Willie Nelson, Amy Winehouse, KT Tunstall, Florence & The Machine, Cee Lo Green, Adele, Mark Ronson, Elton John, Engelbert Humperdinck, Olly Murs, Katie Mehlua, Lana Del Rey and many more.

Kenrick Rowe
A regular and hugely welcome visitor to JazzUp, Kenrick is one of the most in-demand professional drummers on the scene, well known for his mastery of reggae with bands such as Aswad and Jazz Jamaica, and also for his powerful soul and funk grooves with many top bands. After a busy year touring the globe with PJ Harvey, he’s ready again to lay down the groove for us at JazzUp.

Dave Keech
The founder and MD of JazzUp completes the outfit to create a powerful tenor and trombone front line. Dave is always active on the British jazz scene, doing regular gigs with the likes of Kitty LaRoar and Nick Shankland, and has recently spent time in the studio as a member of the horn section for Senegalese singer Modou Touré, on his forthcoming album. Dave has recently played in Japan and has more jazz sessions in Tokyo planned for this year. A future JazzUp in Tokyo is a distinct possibility…
