For International Women’s Day, we’ll be holding a gig to mark the occasion, joined by a line-up which will showcase talent from the local rock/alternative scene, featuring:
JOANovARC
Herts’ queens of hard/classic rock, making a very welcome return to 85. JOA had a busy 2025, which included a string of live dates across the country, writing the forthcoming new material and the release of the singles ‘You Don’t Know’, ‘Say Sayonara’ and ‘Hey Sister’, which are available on various streaming platforms.

Heavy rockers from Cambridge, who’ve previously gained a local fanbase via their appearances at Metal 2 The Masses. Their infectious debut album ‘The Cycle Repeats’ is available digitally and on CD and vinyl at https://planetfatale.bandcamp.com/album/the-cycle-repeats.
Teenage Alt-Rock band, combining elements of grunge, shoegaze and pop punk. Based in Hertfordshire/London.
BABY STEP is a 5 piece alternative rock band based in Hertfordshire. Inspired by the likes of Paramore and Title Fight, BABY STEP are a “great band with a punchy sound and high energy performance style” (Rough Edges) that combine pop-punk with shoegaze elements in their structure and instrumentation.
WITHDRAWN
Withdrawn are a Bedfordshire-based alt-metal band, dancing between the lines of nu-metal, hardcore and something you can’t quite place. With three distinct voices at the core of the sound, a space is carved out where eerie beauty meets raw aggression.
ENTRY £9.00 (plus online booking fee)/£11.00 on the door.

Age: persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID- younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult.
Earplugs are available upon request.
Downstairs bar open until 1am.
We are just a 5-minute stroll from the station; like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge, Peterborough and London.
