DESCRIPTION:After a sell out show in 2023 we are pleased to announce the return of FEROCIOUS DOG as pert of their 2025 acoustic tour. \nAfter a roaring spring tour celebrating the release of our politically charged album Kleptocracy and follow up Part 2 tour this autumn\, we’re looking ahead to a special acoustic tour in Spring 2025. This tour will bring a fresh\, stripped-back sound as we present a new side to the Kleptocracy album\, dive deeper into our back catalogue\, and also paying homage to traditional folk songs that have inspired Ferocious Dog from the start. \nWhile Kleptocracy saw us expanding our sound with heavier rock influences and more Celtic elements\, this tour will offer a different kind of intensity rooted in the raw\, unfiltered energy of acoustic instruments (with a little help from the microphones). We want to give our fans an up-close and personal experience of our music\, offering a more intimate performance. \nThe acoustic setlist will include fan favourites from throughout our career\, reimagined with an even folkier twist\, alongside renditions of traditional folk songs that reflect the same themes of resistance and rebellion present in Kleptocracy. These are stories of struggle and resilience that feel as relevant today as ever\, and we’re excited to give them new life on stage. \nThis tour is a unique follow-up to the journey we’ve taken with Kleptocracy—from the roaring full-band energy\, we’re now inviting audiences to experience the heart of our music in a more stripped-back setting. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce THE METEORS will be playing Club 85 in Hitchin for the very first time on Friday 4th April \nTHE METEORS were formed in 1980 in a reaction to the bands that were singing about ‘Big Green Cars’\, ‘Rocking This Town’ and being ‘Rockabilly Rebels’. Preferring their songs to contain topics about vampires\, stomping in graveyards and radioactive kids P. Paul Fenech\, Mark Robertson and Nigel Lewis soon found themselves all over the media. A media who were eagerly lapping up their new sound christened (though that is surely not the right word) – ‘Psychobilly’. \nTHE METEORS were front page news in the weekly music press\, recording radio sessions and interviews for legends like John Peel\, and gracing the silver screen care of a movie short that did the rounds with the Two-Tone movie ‘Dance Craze’. Their film ‘Meteor Madness’\, apart from hosting some crazed performances with the unhinged trio\, also featured songstress Lily Allen’s father starring as none other than the rather exasperated Devil\, strange but true. \nBy 1982 the original line-up had split\, with Lewis and Robertson going on to form their own bands\, while P. Paul forged ahead with a free hand with THE METEORS and his idea of how psychobilly should sound. That was a sound that had grown from one of a band’s own personal identity to a world-wide genre that is Psychobilly now over 30 years established and still growing and thriving around the globe. THE METEORS have continued to inspire and influence countless bands while continuing to lead the charge from the very vanguard. \n‘The Power Of 3’ is the latest studio album by the undisputed ‘Kings Of Psychobilly’. It is as uncompromising as ever and encompasses all the elements that have always made up THE METEORS brand of ‘Pure Psychobilly’\, mashing up rockabilly\, country\, surf and rock’n’roll. It has forever been a venue that champions young\, upcoming artists – always providing gigging opportunities to anyone that craved a place to perform and express themselves. \nFrom Pop to Black Metal and every wonderful shade in between\, Club 85 has welcomed all with open arms and a wide-eyed excitement to see what they could bring. \nNow however\, we find ourselves in a crucial moment. With the venue now seeking funds and investment to keep it’s doors open and continue providing a place for artists and fans to thrive\, we must act now to do what we can to breathe new life into a place that means so much to so many. \nAll four of us have our own lasting memories of this place. Born in Notting Hill\, Jay played his first gig aged 8 at a 10th birthday party. Influenced by his father’s record collection of blue beat\, ska and jazz\, by the late 1970s he was considered an emerging authority on contemporary Afro-American music including funk\, disco\, soul and jazz fusion. \nDuring a series of late-70s trips to New York\, visiting family\, Norman was inspired by the city’s unique and vibrant club scene\, and on his return to the UK teamed up with his brother\, Joey\, to build the Good Times Sound System\, playing funk\, soul and disco at Notting Hill Carnival. Cementing his reputation as co-founder of\, and prime selector on\, the then London pirate radio station KISS FM. Jay originally coined the term\, and subsequently fostered the emerging ‘Rare Groove’ scene\, filling the airwaves and many warehouse parties under his Shake and Fingerpop guises\, with the best in 70s & 80s grooves and nascent house cuts. Pushing the boundaries of the UK’s emerging club culture he went on to co-found the first ‘Paradise Garage’ style club in Britain – ‘High On Hope’\, and\, alongside kindred spirit Gilles Peterson\, Norman established the Talkin’ Loud label\, spearheading the Acid Jazz scene. \nThroughout the late 80s and 90s\, Jay continued to build a reputation as one of the world’s most popular DJs\, packing clubs to the rafters wherever he played\, taking the underground sounds of rare groove and house firmly into the mainstream. The turn of the century saw Norman Jay assume the role of elder statesman\, receiving an MBE from the Queen for services to deejaying and music. \nMost recently he has taken his legendary Good Times parties to the East of London\, sharing the carnival vibes with venues including St John at Hackney Church\, Oval Space and Mick’s Garage. His latest compilation ‘Mister Good Times’ released with Sunday Best Recordings captures the true spirit of Good Times\, ‘People who used to come to arrive early doors carnival will know exactly what this is about\,” says Norman. DESCRIPTION:Hard to believe we know but it is true\, Kirk Brandon has now been leading SPEAR OF DESTINY for over 40 years. \nSPEAR OF DESTINY were formed in 1983 after the demise of Kirk Brandon’s post punk iconic rockers THEATRE OF HATE. (Brandon had also\, before TOH\, been the main man in every punk rockers favourite band of that era\, The Pack) \nThe current line up of Spear is the longest serving to date and features Adrian Portas (New Model Army / Sex Gang Children)\, Craig Adams (Sisters of Mercy / The Cult / The Mission) and Phil Martini (Jim Jones and the Righteous Mind) on drums. During 2019 the line up was boasted by Saxophonist Clive Osborne. Long time Brandon collaborator Steve Allen-Jones completes the band line up on keyboards.. \nPost Pandemic has seen SOD play some fabulous club shows and festivals including sell out shows at the iconic 100 Club in London\, Manchester Ritz and Glasgow Oran Mor. SOD’s performances at Sign of the Times\, Rebellion and Kubix festivals have heralded fantastic reviews “Festival Stealing Dream set” wrote The Northern Echo. \nLate 2024 will see Spear take to the road with long term friend Richard Jobson who will fronting a revitalised line up of the much loved Post Punk Heroes THE SKIDS. Janus The Tour will pull a set list from these fantatsic new recordings. \nSupport comes from Will Crewdson\, presenting Scant Regard\, a solo one-man whirlwind of pure unadulterated guitar driven energy.
