SUMMARY:YAZ DALE/ECHO/BLUE SHIFT/KIT!
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a night of fresh talent! \nJoin us for an evening of young musicians tearing it up with a night of alt-rock and pop punk! \nYAZ DALE\nYaz Dale are just lame enough for pop punk. Originally from all over the place\, it is by fate that these three met in Leeds in 2024. With catchy lyrics and poppy riffs\, their music is everything you want in 2000s pop punk without the controversy. They are truly taking the Leeds gig scene by storm playing notable venues such as Oporto\, Lending Room and Hyde Park Book Club in their first year as a band and have been called ‘one to watch’ by proud mother Debbie. Stay tuned for their second EP coming sometime this year and sorry in advance for when you get Over + Over stuck in your head! Yaz Dale is Yasmin (vocals)\, Ellie (drums) and Rowan (guitar). \nECHO\nEcho are the kind of band that makes you wonder where the hell they’ve been hiding. Armed with crunchy riffs\, huge hooks\, and the kind of confidence that comes from serious rehearsal room graft\, this four-piece outfit are carving out a name with high-energy sets and songs that stick. With roots in London’s thriving music scene\, their dynamic live performances have made them a solid fixture on local line-ups. Whether they’re delivering an anthemic chorus or locking into a gritty groove\, Echo brings a confident stage presence and serious musical chemistry that leaves an impression long after the last note. \nBLUE SHIFT\nSelf-proclaimed ‘schizo-alt’ band Blueshift live in many sounds\, from light indie rock to nu-metal and punk\, the band’s eclectic taste is strongly reflected in the songs they create. Despite this range\, their signature sound remains prevalent throughout their discography\, whether it be their upbeat rhythms or high octane speeds and riffs. Forming as a 3-piece in late 2022\, what was at first ‘Senta Senza’ became Blueshift shortly after they acquired their lead guitarist\, however a near year-long hiatus would cause the band to rework their line-up into a 4-piece of: Kuba Krzysciak on vocals and rhythm guitar\, Brandon Pearson on drums\, Dominic Clark on lead guitar (sometimes swapped for Michał Wysocki) and Alex Deeks on Bass. \nKIT\nKIT (aka that_boy_kit) is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Knebworth\, UK. Blending ’90s grunge with raw indie energy\, he’s already a three-time finalist in the UK Song Academy Young Songwriter Awards\, and has been played on BBC Introducing. Known for his captivating live shows and honest\, coming-of-age lyrics\, KIT has become a standout at festivals like Todd in the Hole\, Old Town Live\, and Knebworth. Expect heart ache\, big hooks\, and shout-along choruses. Whether busking in Hitchin\, jamming at The Marquis in London\, or lighting up festival stages with his undeniable charisma\, KIT is building a loyal following drawn to his honesty\, grit\, and undeniable musical instincts. His performances are magnetic\, his lyrics relatable\, and his future unstoppable. Welcome to the next wave of UK indie. Welcome to KIT. \n  \nDoors 5.30pm\nEntry £8 (plus online booking fee)/£10 on the door. \n  \nAge: persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult. \nEarplugs are available upon request (50p). \nDownstairs bar open until 11pm. \nWe are just a 5-minute stroll from the station.; like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge\, Peterborough and London. \nFor full up to the minute listings please consider signing up to our mailing list for information on existing and upcoming gigs straight to you! \nAnd remember… Club 85 loves you! xo

SUMMARY:LOWDOWN ALPHA OMEGA ALBUM LAUNCH
DESCRIPTION:LOWDOWN PRESENTS:\nALPHA OMEGA \nLowdown:\nAll Hail The Riff. A war cry synonymous with the Hertfordshire-based four-piece that has seared its mark into the local music scene. Now\, with relentless intent\, Lowdown is poised to take the UK metal landscape by storm. \nBorn in the aftermath of lockdown\, Lowdown emerged from the mind of Dave Runham—a name already revered in the metal stratosphere and a familiar face at Bloodstock. With a new home in Baldock and an even sharper vision\, Runham sought to forge a band that would unleash a sonic onslaught-an unrelenting barrage of riffs and melodies designed to melt faces and ignite crowds hungry for a fresh chapter in modern metal. \nDrawing inspiration from the crushing grooves of Black Label Society\, the soaring melodies of Alter Bridge\, the raw aggression of Pantera\, and the ominous weight of Sabbath\, Lowdown fused doom-laced chords with searing\, down-tuned riffs-pinch harmonics ricocheting through the air like battle cries. Their arrival wasn’t just noticed; it was felt. \nAlpha – Omega by Lowdown is built on the idea that everything—beginnings and endings-comes back to us. As Runham explains\, “The album ‘Alpha – Omega’ was crafted on the understanding that everything starts and ends with us (you). You are your beginning and end. \nWar and conflict exist in many forms. Some fight battles in the physical world\, while others struggle within themselves. This duality is at the heart of Alpha – Omega. “Set Fire” embodies the frustration of trying to fix a problem\, only to realize that the real issue lies within yourself. \nBut the vision needed a heartbeat. Enter Richard Emms\, a powerhouse drummer whose name already carried weight in the scene. When Runham reached out\, it was less of an invitation and more of an inevitability. Alongside his rhythmic partner-in-crime\, bassist Kevin Smart\, the three came together at London Road Rehearsal Studios for what would be a fateful jam session. From the first note\, it was clear—this wasn’t just another band. This was Lowdown. \nAnd then came the missing piece. In early 2023\, Ant Pinnell\, a seasoned veteran of the metal scene\, stepped in\, solidifying the band’s sonic assault. With Pinnell’s presence\, Lowdown evolved—richer\, heavier\, more complex. Onstage and in the studio\, their sound became unstoppable. \nReflecting on the band’s meteoric rise\, Emms recalls\, “The past two years have been nothing short of electrifying. Two unforgettable M2TM finals\, incredible gigs\, and now\, the culmination of it all-our first album. Lowdown was never just about playing metal; it was about making a statement. We set out to be aggressive\, modern\, and undeniable\, blending unshakable riffs with raw energy. And with Alpha/Omega\, that vision has come to life.” \nThe album consists of 10 tracks\, each one a relentless force of pure metal energy. From the very first note\, ‘Set Fire’ erupts—a scorching debut single that takes no prisoners. Uncompromising and explosive\, it forges the backbone of the album\, setting the stage for a sonic journey that is as ferocious as it is unforgettable. \nWith support from: \nBrightblack:\nFormed towards the end of 2022 Bright Black came together with the plan of blending the intensity of modern hard rock with the intricate dynamics of progressive metal. Bright Black have created a sound that feels both refreshingly unique and irresistibly familiar. The band has played various gigs across the country\, including reaching Bloodstocks Metal 2 The Masses final and Godiva calling finals. \nThe band has gone strength to strength through the last year with multiple releases\, even scoring a slot for the mainstage at Wildfire Festival 2025. The band stands firm and ready to take their brand of rock to the masses with a professional attitude and electric live show. \nBuried On Sunday:“Loud and proud. Music that’ll make your Nan cry… not cause it’s aggressive\, it just sounds bad. Jk we’re good actually. Probably.” \nDJ Lad’el:Playing some RIFFING TUNES to open the night! #ALLHAILTHERIFF \n  \nTickets: £5 + 10% Booking fee or £6 OTD\n(please scroll down to purchase tickets) \nDoors: 6:30pm \n  \nAge: Persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult. \nEarplugs are available upon request (50p). \nDownstairs bar open until 1am. \nWe are just a 5-minute stroll from the station; like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge\, Peterborough and London. \nFor full up to the minute listings please consider signing up to our mailing list for information on existing and upcoming gigs straight to you! SUMMARY:THE MEN THEY COULDN'T HANG + Nick Parker!
DESCRIPTION:The Men They Couldn’t Hang + Nick Parker! \nFounded in 1984\, TMTCH evolved from the Shepherd’s Bush squatting and busking scene to make their debut supporting Poguemahone at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in the Easter of that year. \nSwiftly their uproarious and engaging style\, coupled with keenly contemporary songs\, gained a passionate national following\, leading to a 40 year career filled with much loved music\, a dedicated fan community and high octane performances. \nTouring continually throughout their career\, TMTCH have crossed the globe by way of Europe\, Canada\, USA\, Iceland\, Egypt and Estonia. They have appeared at festivals such as Glastonbury\, Roskilde\, Reading\, Pink Pop and Cambridge Folk and have appeared with a roll call of International artists such as David Bowie\, Van Morrison\, Bo Diddley\, The Smiths\, Elvis Costello and the Oyster Band to name a few. \nTheir recordings have been acclaimed in print\, on radio and online; from their definitive version of the anti war classic Green Fields of France to the anti fascist anthem Ghosts of Cable Street and the epic historical ballads\, Ironmasters and The Colours. Recent albums The Defiant (2014) and Cockahoop (2018) have seen TMTCH rise again into prominence; their vitality undimmed. \n2025 \nDevastated by the passing of friend and founder member Stefan Cush during the Covid lockdown\, TMTCH are responding in the only way they know how; writing\, recording and playing live to their ever loyal and growing community of fans. The band found a new lease of life during their very successful  anniversary tour in 2024\, celebrating their 40  years of raising hell which included special events and a ‘Best of’ release. In 2025 they will continue touring and plan to  release a brand new album. \nSupport comes from the indomitable Nick Parker!\nGigging since his early teens playing mandolin and singing in folk/rock/skiffle band ‘Why?’\, Nick spent the next 10 years bouncing around on stages at hundreds of\nvenues and festivals around the UK and Europe. In 2010 Nick embarked on a solo career and has since enjoyed over 30 tours around the UK and Europe\, releasing five full-length albums along the way\, many songs from which have been featured on BBC6 Music among many other radio stations. \nOver the years Nick has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with The Wedding Present\, Bright Eyes and Tom Robinson among many others\, and has recently provided tour support for Levellers\, Ginger Wildheart & the Sinners\, and Skinny Lister. \n  \n  \nTickets priced £23 are on sale from Seetickets from Weds 30th April and from local outlets from the 6th May \nTicket link: https://www.seetickets.com/event/the-men-they-couldn-t-hang/club-85/3410362 \nDoors: 7:30pm \nAge: Persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult. \nEarplugs are available upon request (50p). \nDownstairs bar open until 1am. SUMMARY:THE SKIVE/SLAPP STIKK/PEARLESCENT/THE CONTENDERS!
DESCRIPTION:Political punk\, clown violence\, and teenage angst walk into a club. The barman says\, “What is this… some kind of lineup?” Well\, yes\, actually… \nSYMETRICAL FEELINGS X CLUB 85 PRESENT…. \nTHE SKIVE\nThe Skive are a three-piece punk/garage racket straight outta Stevenage\, which is genuinely the 42nd worst town in the UK. These guys are all about filthy\, in-your-face energy and no-bullshit\, politically charged chaos. They’ve got a reputation for blowing the roof off every joint they play with blistering speed\, reckless anthems\, and lyrics that hit harder than a hangover. Their brand of punk? Pure\, unfiltered\, punch-you-in-the-guts madness. The lineup’s a family affair: Fred on guitar and vocals\, his brother Kyle on drums\, and their mate Joe on bass. These three aren’t just a band\, they’re a fucking force. They’re taking a hard\, unflinching look at the UK\, screaming their way through the mess the higher ups are making\, and demanding we do better. It’s all about unity\, and they’re dragging you along for the ride whether you’re ready or not. \nSLAPP STIKK\nA Leeds-born Clown-Rock band\, on a quest to erase coulrophobia. Nefarious energies emanate from this clown crew’s full-force foolery on the stage; join the circus\, be down to clown. Expect mosh-worthy riffs\, stupid lyrics\, and an opportunity to commit acts of violence against at least one (1) clown. SLAPPSTIKK loves you. \nPEARLESCENT\nA ‘young but not crap’ indie\, pop-punk trio known for their original upbeat anthems and more raw\, introspective songs delving into the experiences of being a teenager. \nTHE CONTENDERS\n–  Tiktok : the_contenders_2024 \nThe Contenders are a 4 piece club indie rock/mod band based in Hertfordshire\, they aspire to give everyone a good time at each and every gig with a mix of covers and their own songs. \nEntry £8 advance (plus online booking fee)/£10 on the door.\nDoors 6pm \nAge: persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult. \nEarplugs are available upon request (50p). \nDownstairs bar open until 11pm. \nWe are just a 5-minute stroll from the station.; like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge\, Peterborough and London. \nFor full up to the minute listings please visit www.club-85.co.uk and consider signing up to our mailing list for information on existing and upcoming gigs straight to you! \nAnd remember… Club 85 loves you! xo

Doors are the earlier time for 7pm with the band taking to the stage 7:30pm \n\nA live injection of Bruce Juice during the long years between Bruce Springsteen’s tours\, this new band provides a vibrant tonic pumped into every aching hungry heart. \n\nYou can expect an ‘E-Street’ experience that captures the unique seven-piece band line-up through arrangements from legendary concerts such as the Main Point to the Bottom Line\, Passaic\, Winterland and Tempe. \nThe band reproduces the original arrangements from the 1970s Wild\, Innocent and a slow\, bluesy ‘E Street Shuffle’ as well as the iconic anthems from the ‘Born to Run’ tour. \n\nMore gems from the 1980s capture the crisp\, rasping sound of the ‘Professor’s’ piano\, Federici’s organ and Clarence’s sax from ‘The River’ tour\, as well as a few stadium foot-stompers from the ‘Born in the USA’ tour. \nBruce Juice stands out as there are usually couple of surprise gems thrown in\, with some great Bruce songs that don’t normally feature in tributes\, but are much loved by Bruce fans. \n\nThis is the only Springsteen tribute band that combines both popular favourites with the essence of Springsteen’s arrangements in legendary live gigs and an unforgettable show. \n\nThe term ‘tribute band’ doesn’t really fit – it is just that there isn’t another word. We are not trying to pay tribute to Bruce as if he has won an award or passed away. Instead\, we absolutely LOVE his music and everything about the energy and passion with which he and the E Street Band deliver unforgettable shows. \n\nSo\, instead\, we aim to take a strong flavour from Bruce’s live performances and combine them with legendary arrangements mixed in with the rich texture of the E Street Band and give audiences a Springsteen-inspired experience full of E Street magic. \n\nWe certainly do not try to imitate or mimic Springsteen\, which as all fans will know\, would be an exercise in failure\, though we will borrow a variety of phrases\, caricatures and moments from great Bruce gigs to give a glimpse of what an up close and personal experience it must have been for all those fortunate enough to have seen Bruce in those small\, intimate gigs at the Bottom Line and the Main Point\, among many others. \nSo\, we aim to deliver a high-energy show inspired by Springsteen\, to send you home with a strong injection of Bruce Juice until the real thing alights on these shores again. \n\nTickets priced £16 are on sale from Weds 30th April from Seetickets & are also available in person from local outlets. \nTicket link: https://www.seetickets.com/event/bruce-juice/club-85/3410150 \nDoors: 7pm \n\nAge: Persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult. \nEarplugs are available upon request (50p). \nDownstairs bar open until 1am.
