INDIFFERENT ENGINE
The mad scientists behind the Cambridge/Herts-based crew have been making a name from themselves over the past few years, thanks to their incendiary live shows and sound that defies any easy pigeonholing – think post-hardcore, post-rock, alt, punk and prog with bursts of groove, and an unhinged larger-than-life frontman who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Now signed to cult label Church Road Records, their debut album ‘Speculative Fiction’ will be available digitally and on CD and vinyl by the time they hit 85’s stage – pre-orders and a handful of tracks can be streamed here! This will sit alongside their unique range of merch which has so far included their own DIY effect pedals and soon, their own retro-style computer game, footage from which can be seen in the music video for the track ‘Crashing Into A Hillside In the Dead Of Night’.

THE GREY
Atmospheric post-metal from Cambridge. Their third album ‘KODOK’ includes guest appearances from Ricky Warwick, Grady Avenell (Will Haven) and Ace (Skunk Anansie) and is available now on all platforms and on CD, vinyl and digitally here!
KODAMA
The fierce metal quintet from St Albans/London, with their blend of metalcore, thrash and groove that’s always got the crowd moving in their previous visits to 85, including a final of M2TM back in 2023. Check out their debut album ‘Telos’ on spotify or bandcamp!
DEAD BAIT
A post-hardcore/metal/punk hybrid quartet from Cambridge, making their first 85 appearance – check out their debut EP ‘Dead Inside’ on spotify or bandcamp!
MAN BAND
Unhinged metallic/punky explosion from Margate. Imagine a soup of Clutch, Eyehategod and American Head Charge with extra beef, and you’ll be getting warm. Check out the live videos on their Facebook for a taste!
KONTRA
From London/Herts, with a unique progressive/alt metal blend characterised by powerful earworm riffs, also making their debut Club 85 appearance – check out their track ‘Heavy Jazz’ for a taste of things to come on youtube and spotify!
Doors 5.15pm
Entry £10 advance (plus 10% online booking fee)/£12 on the door.
Age: persons aged 16+ may attend without a chaperone provided they have photo ID – younger patrons can be signed in at the door and accompanied for the duration of the show by a responsible adult.
Earplugs are available upon request (50p).
Downstairs bar open until 1am.
We are just a 5-minute stroll from the station; like all our gigs this show finishes well in time for the last trains North and South to Cambridge, Peterborough and London.
