Your Club 85 program for November / December 2024 is here! There's something for everyone over the next 2 months - indie, ska, blues, metal, samba, punk and dance + some epic tributes to some of the world's biggest bands.

A few picks for you over the next two months:

❤️ Big Country - Following a packed out show in 2023 we are pleased to be bringing Big Country back to Club 85 for the 40th Anniversary Tour of their classic STEELTOWN album.

🐙 Ozrix Tentacles - Regarded as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK’s festival scene, the Ozrics’ uniquely trippy soundscapes connect fans of progressive rock, psychedelia and dance music culture.

✈️ Mystery Jets - Hailing from the folkloric birthplace of British Blues, Eel Pie Island in London, Mystery Jets are a prog/psychedelia-influenced British indie band who refer to as many genres as they like without being bound by any of them.

🔫 Dub Pistols - THE BIG ONE ! With 6 sellout shows at CLUB 85 (more than any other band) DUB PISTOLS are back at the venue on Sat 21st December .

🎷Dirt Road Band — a night of explosive blues-rock you won’t want to miss! With three of the top professional players in the business, this is a show that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

🚀 Space - one of the UKs best loved alt-pop/indie bands, Space will be visiting Club 85, Hitchin for the first time on Friday 22nd November. One of THE bands of the mid-late 90s, with their first two albums both hitting the top 5 in the UK charts.

💥 Grade 2 - bringing the raw power of old school punk to a new generation, melding the uncompromising ethos of punk with the howl of contemporary injustice, personal identity and frustrations of Gen-Z youth.

🥷 Cage Fight - The unrelenting hardcore ‘super-group’, signed to the world renown Candlelight Records. This will be a hometown show for half of the band, who have kindly lent their services to Club 85’s fundraising to help keep the venue open.

Emily and Freddy who run @thehalfmoonhitchin put on this brilliant event each year featuring some of the best local talent and we want to pass on our gratitude for allowing us to raise money for the future of Club 85.

Yesterday Bob, Cassie and Reuben took part in the 10th anniversary of Venues Day in Woolwich Works, London. Club 85 received an Outstanding Achievement Award alongside some of the UK's best known grassroots venues.

The day celebrates a decade of the Grassroots Music Venue movement and it was the largest gathering of people running grassroots venues in the world. It offered the opportunity to reflect on progress made in the UK and the many challenges that still face the sector.

The keynote was delivered by none other than long term Music Venue Trust patron @steve_lamacq with speakers including Sam Duckworth @forgetcape (Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly), Lily Meff (@themeffsuk), @kwamekwaten (Ferocious Talent), Stina Tweeddale (@yumhoneyblood), Nathan Clark (Brudenell Social Club @nath_brudenell), @rhodadakar, Tom Gray (The Ivors, @automatoms) and Jane Beese among others.

Thank you to everyone that came to see us at Hermitage Road Day Hitchin at the weekend ❤️ We were blown away by the support and demand for T-shirts was off the scale!

We loved hearing your thoughts on our plans and took away lots of ideas and questions. One thing we heard loud and clear was that people in Hitchin want to clearly understand what will happen with Club 85 next and what our longer term plans are. We'll be communicating much more on this soon.
